Imagining Futurities

130 Queens Quay East - Room 246

We currently live, teach and work in one of the most unpredictable and uncertain times in history. In this interactive workshop, participants will be immersed in a dynamic workshop to demonstrate that to thrive in this world, we need to look beyond our typical lens and seek out new strategies.

In this workshop, we will highlight a few trends we believe will likely impact our world in the near future. We will walk through STEEP (Social, Technological, Economic, Environmental and Political) Trends to look at some hard data and then we will use this data to collectively imagine possible futures. We will introduce a foresight methodology called four generic images, to guide participants through a future-oriented exercise. We will facilitate a conversation promising to leave participants thinking differently.

The goal of the workshop is to provide participants with information that will challenge their current ways of thinking, encourage liminal thinking, inspire creative solutions to solving the world’s most complex and wicked problems, and introduce a technique that individuals can take back to their teaching, content development and delivery.

We hope participants will leave the workshops with tangible tools to approach the ever-changing landscape that we are asked to teach, live and work in.
