In October 2018, the UN released a frightening report telling the world something we already knew. Time is running out. We have to stop living in abundance, and even then, it might be too late to slow down climate change and its devastating consequences. As designers working in a world driven by technology and producing products, services and systems that straddle the material and immaterial world, there is a cognitive dissonance between this technological abundance and its impact in the physical world.
