How can I get my students to demonstrate understanding in a creative and engaging way?
In this workshop LEARN HOW TO USE, we will explore how EdPuzzle and Flipgrid allow teachers to give formative feedback while engaging students with personalized learning tools, giving students access to the practice and focus they need to succeed. With EdPuzzle, students listen to a video and answer questions in a self-paced assignment. Students receive immediate feedback on their progress so teachers can work with students individually. Teachers quickly see the level of understanding and where s/he needs to provide additional support. You can use EdPuzzle to break down the 4 walls of your classroom and take students all over the world!
Part two of this workshops will focus on Flipgrid. Flipgrid is a speaking tool where students can demonstrate understanding of a topic, comment on other posts and have a discussion of the material within a controlled site. From describing a picture in French, to summarizing a chapter in a novel, Flipgrid allows teachers to formatively see a student’s understanding in a very individualized way while reaching 100% of students. This 60 minute experiential workshop will demonstrate these tools and then allow educators to create their own resources.
This workshop is targeted to educators from primary to post secondary levels with some background in using technology in the classroom.
