Giorgia Lupi sees beauty in data.

With her practice, she challenges the impersonality that data communicate, designing engaging visual narratives that re-connect numbers to what they stand for: stories, people, ideas.

Giorgia Lupi is an award-winning information designer and a cofounder of Accurat, a data-driven design firm with offices in Milan and New York, where she is the design director. She has a PhD in design from Politecnico di Milano, and is coauthor of the aspirational, hand-drawn data-visualization book Dear Data (Princeton Architectural Press/Penguin Random House).

Her work is included in MoMA’s collection, and the Museum recently commissioned an original, site-specific piece for the exhibition Items: Is Fashion Modern? Lupi also gave a TED TALK on her humanistic approach to data.

Giorgia Lupi will be speaking on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, from 6:30 – 8:30 pm

Digifest and Meet the Media Guru would like to invite you to this FREE TALK and kickoff event to Digifest 2018. Space is limited so RSVP online.

The recent exhibition, Items: Is Fashion Modern? by Giorgia Lupi was on display at the Museum of Modern Art. The exhibition opened on October 1, 2017, and explores the present, past and future of 111 items of clothing and accessories that have had a strong impact on the world.
Lupi and her team investigated the hidden stories of these iconic items by finding information that can create an image through data.
The final result of their findings were presented into a site-specific hand drawn visualization, that outlines inspirations, themes and ideas.
