2017 Digital Pioneer Award Recipient: Don Tapscott

Don Tapscott is a Canadian business executive, author, consultant and speaker who specializes in business strategy, organizational transformation and the role of technology in business and society. Don was the originator of the term ‘Digital Economy’ and was one of the first people to predict the internet’s dramatic effects on business and government on a global scale. He is the CEO of the Tapscott Group, a think tank that regularly advises business and government leaders, and a Senior Advisor at the World Economic Forum.

Don has been advancing ground-breaking concepts for over 3 decades. He has published over 15 books, including The Digital Economy Anniversary Edition: Rethinking Promise and Peril in the Age of Networked Intelligence (October 2014); Macrowikinomics: New Solutions for a Connected Planet (2012); Grown Up Digital (2008); and, Wikinomics: How Mass Collaboration Changes Everything (2006).

His most recent project is BLOCKCHAIN REVOLUTION (2016), a book written in collaboration with his son Alex, that showcases new technologies that ensure privacy and protection while also making exchanges of currency more convenient, and how the theories behind technology can be applied to other fields to help society.
