Jason Nolan is Director of the Experiential Design and Gaming Environment (EDGE) Lab and an assistant professor in the School of Early Childhood Education at Ryerson University. Jason is autistic (HFA) who sees physical reality as other would see an online game. His research focuses on children, technology and play, the pedagogy of technology, and informal learning environments. He began exploring online learning using TinyMuds and MOOs in the late ‘80s, and presently exploring learning simulations Second Life. He co-edited The International Handbook of Virtual Learning Environments (2006). Recent accomplishments include creating a 1.2bn block sphere of dynamite in minecraft, and setting it off by mistake.
