Farzin Farhadi-Niaki is currently a PhD candidate in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Ottawa University in Canada. He received his B.Sc. degree in Electronics Engineering from Ferdowsi University of Mashad in 1995, his Advanced Diploma in Computer Systems from Algonquin College in 2007, and his M.A.Sc degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carleton University in 2011. Since 1995 he has worked as a computer expert/researcher in image and video processing, programming, project management, network administration, web mastering, troubleshooting, and teaching fields in public and private sectors. He is currently researching on depth sensitive vision-based human and computer interaction using arm/hand gestures.

His main research interests are image and video processing, human and computer interaction, machine vision, entertainment technologies, artificial intelligence, interactive media and digital art, interactive networking systems and telemedicine, software projects management, augmented reality, wireless and mobile e-commerce networks, and biomedical image processing.
